After all, it is the Germans who are famous for one of the deepest traditions of these fairs! The towns are decked out, the vendors are setting up and offering all sorts of goodies, and the smell of the delicacies can make you swoon. There will be dozens of fairs around the city, so there will be plenty to wander around and enjoy. Whether you want something fabulous, trendy or more urban, there is something for everyone.
Berlin already smells of mulled wine and roasted almonds, and Christmas markets are set up in all the major squares around the city, offering shopping, entertainment and food. Berlin has more than 80 Christmas markets every year. The Gendarmienmarkt, the Spandau and the markets near the Charlottenburg Palace are the most beautiful.
